Hello Friends!! Welcome to the very FIRST post from Building the Crowder’s, I’m so happy you are here! We are going to start off with a Fall Farmhouse Pumpkin Diy! Here in Texas it’s hard to get into the fall spirit when you walk from your house to your car and are drenched in sweat. YUCK, I know! But I refuse to put it off any longer, this is my favorite time of year!

For our first DIY, we are going to make the most AMAZING Fall Farmhouse Pumpkin. I wish I could claim this beautiful idea as my own, but it is from the imagination of Pen + Paper Flowers. I just changed things up slightly. So let’s get going…

Fall Farmhouse Pumpkin Step One

First, you will need Mason Jar lids. I was lucky that I had some leftover from a wedding I decorated. If you do not have any, you can find mason jars at most dollar stores or Walmart. I used 17 lids, but if you would like your pumpkin larger you can always use more. I then applied 2 coats of Flat White spray paint to both sides. The farmhouse style is not a fan of shiny paint, but if you are, then shine away!

While those were drying I found an old book and cut the strips that will go around the lids. I cut my strips 3/8 inch wide, but if you get larger jars cut yours accordingly.

Now it’s time to add the book strips. Using a hot glue gun, glue the top of the strips toward the inner part of the pumpkin. Let the opposite end of the strip hang off for now, we will discuss that in the next step.

Carefully turn your pumpkin over. Now glue the bottom part of the strips around the lid. Don’t worry about the strips not meeting. Once they are all glued you can turn the uncovered portion toward the inner part of the pumpkin and no one will be the wiser!

For the last step attach the stem and leaves. I used a tree branch I found outside and cut out leaves from burlap. In Pen + Paper Flowers tutorial they used cinnamon sticks and brown cupcake holders to make the leaves. Thats what is so great about this DIY, you can change it to make it your own.
