A Sign For All Seasons

Hello again! It's the LAST day of fall decor diy week, can you believe it? I have been having so much fun, I'm a little sad to see it go. No worries though, I will be doing another one with all Christmas diy's in the future. Tonights diy is, by far, my FAVORITE!! So lets [...]

Blessed girl, right here!🙌🏻 I got to visit a place that 2 of my FAVORITE @hgtv stars call their Home Town!! (See what I did there?🤣🤷🏻‍♀️) Laurel, Mississippi put their best foot forward, for sure! Every person we met was so nice and would go, over and above, to help you with anything you needed. If you are coming through this area, it’s a MUST stop! Thank you Laurel for not disappointing! Also, @erinnapier and @bennapier I can see why you made this your home town!
God is good y’all!! This evening before I started work in the shop, I took a moment. A moment, to be mesmerized at the beautiful world God created for us to live in! I am so grateful to be able to live in a country where I can OPENLY praise Him! This past year, and every day since has been hard! But, when I see a sky that amazing, as if, God painted it for me to see, it reminds me to be grateful for each day. To be present, in that day, and to never take it for granted!
This fireplace is D.O.N.E.!!! It’s also become the new fun place to hang out. From watching sports, to shopping online, and playing LEGO’s, it works for all of it!! I still have more to do in this space, but my dream of having a fireplace with a mantle has FINALLY come true! Thanks to my hubby, @cjcrowder, for helping me get started! Also, thanks to all of you for following along and cheering me on! I’m so humbled and grateful! If you didn’t see this build in stories, don’t worry, I saved everything in a highlight. Also, I will be creating a blog post very soon with even more details!! So stay tuned.
When a 7 year old comes into the room and says, “Mom, it looks like it snowed in here.” What do you do??? You have a snow/sawdust fight, of course!! ❄️❄️❄️ Also, if you are looking to start #diying a @kregjig is one of my top 3 tools you need to buy!! It allows you to tackle SO MANY projects! They have all different sizes at different prices, for your budget! Honestly I didn’t NEED to get the kreg jig k4, I could of gone with a smaller one and it would of done the same thing! Just DONT tell my husband! Deal?🙏🏻🤣🙌🏻
Well that’s a wrap (🤣🤣 get it?) on the Christmas tree doors!! What do you think? These guys gave me a run for my money with that top angle. I was ready to throw in the towel, but cooler heads prevailed. I went to YouTube and with a refresher on junior high geometry, I was able to figure it out. Also, I think I’m trying to see how many clichés I can fit into one post!!🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣 ⠀
It’s not a typical way you would expect to see reindeers, but I love the way they turned out!! To think that I ALMOST threw those out!!🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope this gets your wheels turning on ways to turn old Christmas decor and make it new again!! ⠀
Plywood is up and we are officially HALFWAY done with this project. Now the pretty gets to happen! 😍 It’s time for shiplap and my FAVORITE white paint color Alabaster from @sherwinwilliams ☃️⛄️☃️ Make sure you are watching stories where you can see all the fun go down!!! ⠀
All in 2 days work!!🤷🏻‍♀️I don’t think y’all understand how excited I am about this project!! For at least 13 years I have wanted a fireplace, but really I wanted a MANTLE!! This year I FINALLY get to hang my grandmothers stockings(that mean the WORLD to me) from where they are supposed to be for Christmas! She has passed, but I feel so blessed that there were enough stockings, that she made, to give my husband and kids one, as well!! It wouldn’t be Christmas without those things I hold so dear. My family, and the memory of Christmas past, which floods my mind every time I see her beautiful, hand made, stockings every year! ⠀
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!! I pray that you find peace with whatever today looks like for you! God is on the throne and He will see you through!! Be grateful in all things, and in all ways! Amen!!
So what do you think of the trim and baseboard color? I could not be MORE happy with how this space turned out! Honestly, every time I walk in here, I can’t help but smile!! Using this color for the trim helps it to stand out. Now, it becomes a feature of the room, instead of blending in with the background! ⠀
I didn’t want to leave you hanging until Friday, so here is the reveal of my #shiplap walls!! It’s AMAZING to me how adding shiplap to the walls has changed the feel of this room, dramatically!! Of course, though, there are still things to do...
Every-Single-Time!! Every single time I paint a wall it STILL amazes me how it can change a space! This is just PRIMER and I can see such a difference already!! If you are looking to change a room on a #budget paint is the way to go!! Tomorrow the boards will go up and it will add a ton of texture to this space, just wait and see!!
WARNING...Real talk coming at you! So to be honest, I thought I would have the both walls done and window trim complete by the end of my weekend! Not sure what I was thinking!🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Although I have learned this MANY times over, somehow I need reminding every project. That is, that projects take time!!
Here she is folks!!!! My table and chairs are finally done!! I wish I could of taken a better picture, but the sun went down before I could. I will say, I’ve learned so many lessons on this flip. One, when entering a contest, make sure you start ON TIME!!! 🤪 Two, don’t try to do to much with a short timeline! Three, projects NEVER go as planned(which I know that, but I still have to remind myself on EVERY project😂). Finally, four, you have to go with the flow. When somethings not working, it’s time to take a break. When I come back with a calmed mind that’s when solutions hit me!!!
This is what the dowel rods were for!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻Did you guess right?? I love the depth and texture it gives to this old table base. I still have more up my sleeve for this base, but thats for another day!! Now for the important decision, what color paint should I use?🤷🏻‍♀️ I have an idea, but would love to know your thoughts. Tell me in the comments⬇️⬇️⬇️
The #furnitureflipchallenge has officially started, for me!! I have some ambitious plans for this table and chairs. My fingers and toes are crossed that I can finish by the deadline. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 With all of you cheering me on, I know I will do it! Now that the chairs and table are disassembled, tomorrow I can start on sanding and working with the dowels!! I need prays that my vision can be executed. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
3 different ways to style a #fallpumpkin
Tell the truth...You thought this #pumpkindiy was going to turn out horribly??!!🤣🤷🏻‍♀️So, what’s your thoughts now?? I love that it gave the pumpkins a vintage look. You can also use the “dirt effect” on vases of all colors. The dirt gives the vase an organic feel with loads of texture. This weekend I’m doing all #falldiy -join me tomorrow in stories to see what’s next!!! Oh, and also, swipe the pictures to the end to see how I was able to get a black background. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤪🤣 Whatever works, right?
So did you guess black?? I have to say that this might be my FAVORITE project so far!! I have wanted black windows forever and now I have them!
Today I talked about the difference between Polyurethane vs. Polycrylic. They are both great for finishing but there is one that is easier to work with. Can you tell me which one I’m talking about?🤔 Check out stories for the answer!!
